Some people are reluctant towards drinking milk. There are some compelling arguments which might persuade to stop drinking cows milk if you currently do so. Often people are unsure of what to do, for instance if you are vegan, lactose intolerant, or have a milk allergy, you probably would be using alternatives of milk. In other case people might switch to milk alternatives to reduce their intake of fat or rather have skim cow’s milk which is non fat.

The Vegan Case
It is often argued that cows milk might very unhealthy, this is because cows are treated miserable and their living conditions are below par to be producing good quality milk. Cows which live on farms also create major environmental issues as a cow emits more of harmful gases then a car does. I just can’t get rid of the idea of starting an organic dairy farm. If you own a piece of land where you can grow cattle feed, this is an excellent business opportunity for you. Having worked in dairy industry(Milk Collection/Procurement), I know the ins and outs of this business like back of my hand.
Now that I have a steady income, I think I can inject the required capital to start the dairy farm. My wife does not think it is a cool idea. but my brothers and father are very supportive. They are even ready to make it a family business and help me in day to day operation of the farm.
I do have an excellent piece of land that is ideally situated near a major highway. It is by all means ideal for the any farm related business. It is within 100 KM range of 5 major cities. Cities need farm produce to survive. [click to continue…]

A well experienced person who is well trained in calf raising and management should be given the task of raising the future dairy herd. In daily calf feeding and management procedure timing and sanitation must be given priority.

It’s recommended that a calf should be checked at least twice in a day. If you see any abnormal or sick calf isolate it from others. Give that calf proper treatment and check it after every hour until its health returned to normal. [click to continue…]

In this era we are almost forced to use pasteurized milk, because raw milk is not available as it was before. That’s why it’s necessary for us to know what pasteurization means.
Pasteurization
Pasteurization’s basic purpose is to accomplish two things:
It’s done by keeping the milk at a temperature of 145 degrees to 150 degrees F. for almost half an hour. After that temperature is reduced to 55 degrees F.
